_ROMA HEALTH SUPPORT WORKER_.
COUNTY KILDARE LEADER PARTNERSHIP provides a range of supports to
member of the Kildare Roma Community and currently operates a Roma
Employment Support Programme. We wish to expand our Roma programme to
support access to health services and health information. The position
is funded by the Health Service Executive Social Inclusion Programme.
THE ROMA HEALTH SUPPORT WORKER will engage and build relationships of
trust with Roma to support their access to health services and health
information with the objective of improving health outcomes for Roma
in County Kildare. S/he will work towards addressing the social
determinants of health which negatively impact members of the Roma
community.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant 3rd level qualification
or have extensive experience working with the Roma Community in a
community development setting. S/he will have a minimum of 2 years
relevant work experience working directly with marginalised or
minority groups.
S/he will have excellence communication and organisation skills, good
IT skills, have a high standard of written and verbal English _and _be
able to communicate in either Slovakian, Romaine or Romanian.
A fixed-term contract of one year will apply and will be offered with
salary commensurate to experience.
